Mr. Lawrence Batiste's service to his profession includes roles as Chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) and as past President of the Empire Board of Realtists, which was formed in 1939 to ensure equality in housing and the real estate profession for minorities. Since then, he has served in various capacities within NAREB, including National Convention Chair, Executive Committee member, Board of Directors member, and Chief of Staff. Mr. Batiste has also served as a manager at the NID Atlanta Metro Housing Counseling Agency.

Mr. Batiste has over 15 years of experience in the Housing Counseling sector and is a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor. He has managed all NID-HCA counseling services, has over 30 years of experience in real estate, and has held the position of Branch Manager at NID-HCA. He is also the Broker/Owner of a real estate brokerage and has served as President and Chairman of the local NAREB Atlanta Board, among various roles within NAREB and the National Association of Realtors. Within NAREB, he served as Chairman of the Board to three National Presidents and as Chief of Staff to one National President. He has also served as Local President and Chairman of the Board of the Empire Board of Realtists, Inc., NAREB's local chapter in Atlanta. Additionally, he managed all NID-HCA counseling services for NAREB’s Two Million New Black Homeowners in 5 Years (2MN5) Initiative's Community Days.

Mr. Batiste currently serves on the NID Board as an Advisory Board Member and has recently been appointed to the Office of Housing Counseling (OHC) as a Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee Member (HCFAC).
